We have both, JIRA and Confluence installed in our Atlassian Cloud account. This article: https://www.atlassian.com/blog/confluence/link-jira-issues-to-confluence-pages-automatically says that whenever you create JIRA item and link to it from page, JIRA issue link is created automatically.
It works for issues linked in page bodies, but not in comments.
We use pretty often workflow: discussion around topic goes and some issues appear during discussion. Then we just create JIRA issues right from comments using JIRA macro and link is created to new JIRA item, which is great, but JIRA item does not have link to page in this case.
Any ideas, what do we do wrong?
You are doing everything correctly. The links back to Confluence don't get created on the JIRA tickets if you use the JIRA Issues macro in a comment. I mentioned your use case on Create reciprocal link in JIRA when a JIRA issue is linked in a Confluence page comment, however, it looks like there are no plans to introduce the feature.
