Does a background re-index run even when you exit the page?

Hi all, we ran a background re-index of Jira, after about an hour I think it tried to refresh the page (as it does to check percentage) and I got an error.

After a refresh of the page, Jira opened the home page like normal.

I'm assuming the re-indexing is still running in the background though? Is there a way to see it again or know when its finished? When I go back to the re-indexing page it just shows the normal re-index options.

Cheers!

Hi,

If you have Jira 8.8.0 or higher you can check the audit log

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-44163

Hmm thanks mate, this helps! Would you know approximately how long it would take usually? Unfortunately mine doesn't show its finished yet and its been over 12 hours which feels like a lot?
