Hello,
Hope this message finds you well.
I have purchased an add-on "Mobile for JIRA" to access my JIRA server from my IOS devices and have full administration on my projects.
To log in on IOS the app needs username, password, and URL.
I don't know which URL to type as I have JIRA server (not cloud). How to give access and permission to "Mobile for JIRA: to my JIRA server installed on my Win 10 Microsoft surface pro 2.
Look forward to hearing from.
Regards,
Bishoy
Hello Bishoy,
According to the documentation for the addon you need to make sure that the app is installed on your Jira server instance. Once it's installed, assuming that you can access your instance from the internet, all you need to do is give the url that you normally use to access to jira, and it should load.

Hello Eric,
Thank you for your answer. What you mentioned I working fine with cloud version. My I could not access is the server version which is installed locally on my computer. The URL that is used is a localhost with a port number which can not be used to log in on the IOS app. I am sure there is a way to give permission to the IOS app. I searched the JIRA documentations and found a topic which I think is relating to what I am looking for: https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver079/connecting-to-crowd-or-another-jira-application-for-user-management-950288330.html

Hi Bishoy,
You won't be able to connect to a localhost instance on your computer unless you expose the application to the internet or whichever network your'e on. I'm in no way a network expert, but logically, if your mobile device and your computer can talk to each other on that network directly, you should be able to access your instance using the ip and port of your machine and jira instance to connect to your instance.

Hi Eric,
You are pointing exactly to what I look for: what is the way to expose the localhost on the network so the IOS app may get access to read/write and edit issues and boards.

I'm afraid I can't help you there. It really depends on your network and how it's managed.
