I need to be able to calculate number of days to end date. Whole number and without an add-in. What good is Jira if everything requires and add-in?
Atlassian third party add-in make it very difficult for military users, they have to request permission to add the add-in and this delays testing and roll out.
Hello @Frank Collazo
Are you using Jira Server or Jira Data Center?
What version of the product are you using? You can version information at the bottom of many pages, including the Login screen and Dashboard screens. The information will look something like this:
With Jira Data Center of certain versions there is an Automation feature included automatically and for free. I think that started with version 9.x.
For older versions back to 8.20.0 you can manually install the app, still for free.

With that app you could be able to construct a rule to execute the calculation, and you could store that in a custom field in the issue.
For Jira Server there was also an optional Automation Lite version of the app that you could install for free, which I believe you can still install by going to the Version History page and downloading the JAR file.

@Trudy Claspill We are using Data Center v. 9.12. Where do I activate this app that is included with this version?

It should be activated by default.
But it may be accessible only to Jira Administrators.
Here's a link to the documentation.

@Trudy Claspill so I will be able to automate my assets?
Ex: Asset:Customer is linked to Asset:Project and Assets:Group
When I create a customer and select project the group is auto populated

Automation related to Assets is a completely different topic than the original topic of your post.
I recommend that you create a new Question post for the new topic.
I don't actually have any experience working with Assets in the Jira self-hosted environment, so I can't offer any guidance on that topic.
