How do I remove a selection from a list in my component/s field?

I have a list of components but i only want to remove one selection:

I have used a pre-condition to evaluate if the option is present in the field and then to update to blank. Every time i have tried to run this it gives an error saying that it is an illegal action.

Is there any way to verify that the component/s field has the value and to remove it without clearing all the other options? Preferably without having to purchase an add-on as i do not have authorization to do so from my work place.

I managed to find a way of doing this but only if the criteria are limited to 2 options, true or false. With this i could either add to or clear the field.

Ok i get it, so for me you will need an addon like i said above. Let me check if its possible without, inside the workflow but im not sure.

I tested it and it is no possible to edit a component inside the workflow who can only edit those values.

So you will need an addon to do exactly what you want

Why you don't delete the concerned component from you project setting? it will not be able to users to choose it if it deleted.

If you can you will need add on to check the value of the field like Scriptrunner

I only want to remove the component/s if the car or ticket is moved through a certain transition, not completely.
