When I try to import a .csv file I am able to map all the fields except for comments. Comments does not appear to be in the drop down menu. I use "Issues" then "Import Issues from CSV" and it is says External System Import so it should have all of the field right? Please help ASAP, i really dont want to have to add all of these comments by hand

There are 2 import tools (because that makes sense)
b) Administration > System > Import & Export > External System Import > Import
This is the full importer where you can set issue type, and is explained here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver071/importing-data-from-csv-802592885.html
You can import comment as well from csv import
Refer to https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftwareserver/creating-issues-using-the-csv-importer-939938927.html for the instructions.

Read your own link. At the end, there is a box that says "If you aren’t a Jira administrator...", you cannot import (among other things) comment bodies.

Thanks for the clear answer, Fazila - looks like you can import comments if you're a Jira Administrator.

Hi,
I'm a jira admin, project admin and org admin. I am still unable to select/import comments that are related to the Jira Admin permissions. Any clues what the problem could be?
Any help is appreciated, thanks!
