I have added JiraBot to our dev team channel but now any time something happens the JiraBot both writes to the channel and direct messages me so I get 2 notifications every time something happens. How to I tell the @Jirabot to shush! I just want to see the notices from the slack channel stop DMin me!
Hi all, I'd like to update you with some information on how you can manage your Slack notifications from Jira.
Firstly, we added some configuration options on getting notified by the app in Direct Messages (DMs). You can use /jira notify in Slack to get started - the bot will guide you through getting personal notifications set up. These notifications go directly to you when actions happen that affect you in Jira, as opposed to more general notifications to a Slack channel.
(pictured: the message you get from the app after sending /jira notify in Slack)
These notifications can be toggled individually, and you can receive notifications from multiple Jira sites (if you work in multiple sites) into one Slack workspace using the same configuration.
Secondly, Slack added a feature in August 2020 that allows you to mute DMs with apps. In the past, a suggested workaround for getting "ignore-able" notifications from Jira was to set up a dedicated channel with the app, use a project subscription to get messages for one or more projects you were interested in, and then mute the channel. Now you can use /jira notify for these messages and simply mute the app.
We hope that these changes help you configure Slack and Jira notifications to your taste and make your work easier.
Cheers,
Daniel | Atlassian Team

Have you got the bug fixed? Maybe you can try uninstalling the app and installing another jira integration add-on? Tbh it seems to take you a lot of time to fix the bugs in the integration yourself.

yes by removing the integration and re adding it the double messages are gone. I think I did the /jira connect in the private channel so it was connected there but there is no way to disconnect it once you do that. a /jira disconnect option would be nice.

Oh gosh yes please! We accidentally installed it in a private channel and can't get it to stop!! Constant messages. Even better when some devs are working at 3:00am!!

Thanks, @Kevin Doyon, this fixed the issue for me.

Thanks, @Kevin Doyon, this fixed the issue for me too. To show the hyperlink of the JIRA issue in slack channel actually requires a "custom integration" to be installed for the outgoing webhooks.

Write /jira info
this will provide a link to the jira confic page that sends the notifications. there you can chose what to notify, or even delete the whole event.

In your DM window with Jirabot, type /remove @Jirabot or /kick Jirabot
This command usually works in channels. Not sure about DM but give it a try.

On the Left pane of your slack, at the bottom where it shows the Apps section.. are you able to see the Jirabot and do you see the (x) on it? Can you remove it and see? I don't think removing it will disconnect your integration to slack channels.
