Hi experts,
We are thinking about migrating all Jira projects (~500 projects) and all Confluence spaces (~800 spaces) from our actual instance to another instance managed through K8s cluster.
We use some plugins that we have to migrate too.
We are looking for the best method in terms of time and costs.
We thought about the following methods :
Can you give us your advices regarding our proposals in order to perform this kind of operation ? and give us your method if you think differently ?
Thank you for your support
For jira, we use CMJ. It can migrate issues as well as just configuration. Be careful and insure your migration doesn’t create new artifacts, like fields, types and statuses.
try on a non prod instance until you feel comfortable with the process.
For confluence, space export and imports work well. Be careful for key dups.
Hi Alan,
Thanks for your answer,
Migrating 500 projects with CMJ would take a very long time to proceed and we would like to avoid this.
Any other idea ?

Hi @Rash ,
the best way to merge two different JIRA/Confluence instance is to perform a full backup of you source JIRA/Confluence instance and perfrom project by project/space by space import into the target instance.
I used this approach in the past and, for my knowledge, it is the best and safe way to do that.
Keep in mind that plugins data should be migrated in a different way depending on the app itself.
Hope this helps,
Fabio

Hi Fabio,
thanks for your answer.
I have questions :
The full backup is just for backup purpose not for restoring data ?
Which way do you recommend to migrate project by project/space by space ?
Thanks
