IMAP POP incoming Mail Server setup fails

Hi,

I am trying to setup a mail server to add an incoming mail handler in JIRA. When adding the POP/IMAP mail server I keep getting error "Connection Exception: Connection refused". Please see the screenshot attached for the exact error. I know I am putting the right mail server information for the email I am using but I also tried with different combination of protocol, host and port but none works. Sometimes some of them gives different kind of error. Can anyone please tell me what I am doing wrong or is this feature broken in JIRA?

Hi @Shahriar, 

have you checked that your instance has internet access and is able to reach the office365.com domain ? 

You can check this by connecting with SSH to the server hosting your Jira instance and perform this test:

telnet outlook.office365.com 993

This will either timeout or give an error if you can't reach it because of a network issue or configuration (firewall blocking outside calls for example).
