Hey community! This is my first question here and hope someone out there has some ideas to point toward some kind of workaround. Is there a way to encourage users to fill Work Description field when logging work via automation? For example trigger a screen after work log registred or something else similar? How to set up that automation? We`re using Jira Data Center.
I have voted for https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-8751. Also checked other similar posts and they suggest third-party apps but this isn`t a good option (we`re already using Apptime but there`s no possibility to make the field required via that particular app). So looking for something else as a workaround to remind user to fill that field or to have a pop up or smth.
Any help appreciated!
Hi Joanna,
Nothing really that I know of outside of trying other apps. But you might could send an email to them if they create an entry without that field being populated. Maybe by Automation for Jira or ScriptRunner if you have one of those. Then if you keep having problems with the same team member who won't fill it out, might be time for a new team member.
Yes that`s an option, we have Automation for Jira. If work description field empty when logging work then send e-mail to that user. Will have to figure out how to set that up :D thanks!
