We are using JIRA v7.2.15

I have never used JIRA, walked through several videos over the past several hours and I no closer to getting us started. Hoping you can help!  We need to do the following:

We need make our team projects private in JIRA

Under our Team Name which doubles as our Project Name in JIRA

I need to:

1) list several automation projects we have going on

2) Build a Product Backlog for each

3) Road Maps for each

Our JIRA instance shows the following in the left column:

Team Name

Scrum

Backlog

Acive Sprints

Releases

Reports

Issues

etc.

And at the top:

Dashboard  Projects  Issues  Boards  Portfolio  ezBI and WorkBoard

Hi @AChance

Try this.

Option 1

  1. You can create separate projects for each automation project
  2. Create Board for each project with own backlog with Stories and Tasks
  3. Use Versions if you have releases

Option 2

  1. Use one project with one common board
  2. Use Epics to represent your automation projects
  3. Use common backlog but assign Stories and Tasks to the Epics in your common board
  4. User Versions if you have releases

If the projects are independent from each other then different project and separate project will work better.

Since you have Portfolio installed as well. You can also use it to create a plan with all the projects. Portfolio will have filters on top for you and you can use it to create a roadmap and dependencies.
