Jira <=> Bamboo: Cannot authenticate

Lukas Haigner March 23, 2018

Bamboo is successfully linked with Jira but it doesn't really work. If I'm on the system dashboard, there's the message: "Additional information may be available, please authenticate for more information: Authenticate with Atlassian Bamboo.". First, everything seems to be working until you clicked on allow in Bamboo and refreshed the Jira page. You're now logged out and Bamboo is still not connected to Jira. I've no idea what it could be, I already relinked Bamboo three times without success.

@Lukas Haigner

Hi Lukas

how are your application links configured (which option did you pick)

Did you check the logs when you tried to access bamboo / jira?

@Kurt Klinner

I think it was just a slight connection bug. First, I looked into Bamboo and it said the connection is "Deprecated". A quick look in the edit mode and I saw Bamboo is connected with Jira but Jira has no connection to Bamboo. Now I knew what was wrong, some access tokens were not valid and I removed them and relinked Bamboo with Jira. Finally, it worked.

BTW, in some tries he also said "The session is expired" and also couldn't create an access token.

This question is now solved!
