Need to create subtasks automatically depending on the field values at the time of creation of ticke

when i create a ticket it asks for a field to be filled.( field = sector) cascading

sector =1. finance 2. automative 3. construction

when i select 2. automative, i need a subtask to be created with subject as automotive.

at the time of ticket creation.

( i need subtasks created just for the specific field ( SECTOR) )\

I tried to add a condition but cannot find the condition at the time of create transition.

Hi @siva,

as mentioned before, you won't be able to implement your requirements without the help of an additional workflow app. While evaluating the one that fits best for you - ScriptRunner as well as Jira Misc Workflow Extensions should also do the trick - I'd recommend having a closer look at Jira Workflow Toolbox, since it supports different approaches, e.g.

• Create a sub-task for each user selected in a Multi-User Picker
• Create specific sub-tasks for each selected component

The given examples obviously work for other custom fields, like single- or multi-selects, as well.

in case i have a field ( TYPE ) check boxes

TYPE :

1. FINANCE

2. BANKING

3.CONSTRUCTION

4. BUSINESS

if i select 1 and 3, two subtasks for each selection option should be created.

is it possible.

Hi @siva,

this is absolutely possible. Your scenario can be implemented the same way explained within the example links. You'll just have to edit the first block so that it refers to your Type field instead of components/multi-user picker.

Hi Siva. 

You can do it using this app: Automatic sub-tasks professional

The only issue is that it will not have the custom field but there is a workaround: 

1. Instead of using your custom field for setting the SECTOR, use the "components" field, example: Component: Finance, Automotive, etc. You can use labels or keywords on the summary or description as well. 
2. Set the subtasks that will be created per SECTOR.
3. Done

Thank you for raising this question.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to create conditions in the create transition because the time of verification of a condition in a workflow is before the execution of the transition, so it can not be scheduled to run before the first transition of the workflow.

That being said, I think it's not possible to do it using native features of JIRA, however, I'm aware of some plugins that you can use to achieve your need. My recommendation would be Automation for JIRA, where you can configure a simple rule like the one below:

i have a check box field  : TYPE 

Options

1 finance

2 construction

3 sales

when i select 2 options i need two subtasks to be created.
when i select 1 option one subtask to be created.

when i select 3 options three subtask to be created.

Can you send me a screen shot as previous one, with these conditions ?
