I'm writing because i'm working on a next-gen project and I would like to sort the steps by priority or deadline.
Also, it will be awesome to see the priority and deadline on the cards when are close.
Could you please help me?

Currently, it's possible only to sort the tickets by Epic and Label when using a board on next-gen projects.
Also, as we can't customize the cards, the priority does not show on open or closed tickets.

The option to order the cards or backlog is also not available for next-gen projects.

Agreed, this is an absolute core function of any software dev backlog. To have it groomed and prioritized.

Unfortunately, we'll have to move back to Classic Jira because this feature isn't available. There are so many easy features in nextGen but alas we must say Au Revoir!

Being able to sort tickets by Epic and Priority - both in the backlog and on the board is essential - I'm struggling with Jira NextGen because of this. If you have a complex project with a big backlog it's not usable.

Some of the features mentioned on this thread had some updates and the one about ordering the backlog based on fields was transitioned to “Gathering interest” in February and that’s the only update for now.

You can filter and order by priority from the Issue Navigator (access it by clicking "Filters" (from the top menu) -> "Advanced Issue Search" -> "+ More" -> "Priority")
To change the order just click on the priority column
