Question about default groups Vs JIRA administrators ?

users of JIRA 7.3 server.

i'm trying to understand permissions and i'm missing a few concepts about permissions.

Permission scheme - Administer projects permission is granted to Administrators (project role) and PA ( user group)

Administrators Project role has "JIRA administrators" group as the default.

user A is in the JIRA administrators group ( inherits all JIRA Admin functions) and PA group.

For 1 test project, i removed the default "JIRA administrators" user group from the "Administrators" project role and removed the user from "PA" user group as well but the user is still able to perform the "Administer" project functions like adding users to a project role etc. The user logged out and logged in after the change.

what am i missing here ? please advise.

Hello,

Is this user a Jira administrator? Is the user included in any groups which is granted the Jira administrator global permission? Are there any group in the Project Administrator permission, which are added to this user?

thanks for the response alex. The user is a part of the "JIRA administrator" group which is has the "JIRA Administrators" and "Create Shared Objects" global permissions.
