Stop JIRA from creating new workflows, schemes, etc. when creating new projects

This is making me crazy.   I want all new projects I create to use the same workflow scheme, screen scheme, etc.   It's bad enough I can't copy a project (an issue addressing this has over 500 votes and was written in 2005 and is not implemented... no excuse).   But every time I create a project, it creates new schemes.  I have to manually change each one to my default, and then delete the schemes.   Is there any way around this?  Thanks in advance for any help.

Without any add-ons, try using the "create using shared schemes" link at the bottom of the project-type-selection window.  (On older versions, use the "JIRA default" project template)

I use the Project Creator plugin. I set up my own schemes and use them as default. You can quickly cerate templates from existing projects. Super easy to use, and allows the delegation of project creation to non-admins.
