Currently JIRA is already is synchronised with a TFS server using TFS4JIRA
Now there is another TFS server which I am trying to integrate with same JIRA
However I dont see option to add another synchronization option for TFS
Please advise if this is possible at all to integrate more than one TFS URLs from single JIRA server?
Hi,
@Kit Tin Mak for check-ins is it possible to do multiple repos to one project?
depends on how you connect them. If you are using issue keys in check-in comments, then projects do not matter. If you are using associate check-ins to workitems that are later synchronized to Jira, then this is also possible but require more attention during the creation of sync profiles to avoid conflicts :)

Hi Pratik,
By using TFS4JIRA, you may synchronize one Jira instance with multiple TFS Servers. In order to do that, you will need to create multiple sync profile since each sync profile is 1:1 relation between Jira project and TFS project. Hence, in the new sync profile, you can use the same Jira instance (same URL), with different TFS instance (different TFS URL).

Hi Kit,
Thanks for your response. However the setup is such that TFS4JIRA sychnronizer is installed on TFS server and JIRA has TFS4JIRA plugin.
Do I need to install sychronizer in another TFS server and setup the profiles there?
JIRA plugin allows only one URL to be setup
I am not clear on how this actually works? Can you please throw some light on how this can be done on existing setup?

Hi Pratik,
For the TFS4JIRA Settings in your Jira instance, you can only input one Synchronizer URL. You need just one Synchronizer instead of multiple Synchronizer.
Even if your Synchronizer is installed in the same machine as a TFS Server, as long as the communication between this server and another TFS Server is not blocked, you can create sync profile pointing to other TFS Server URLs.
If you are referring to workitem/issue synchronization, in sync profile, you can input different TFS instance URLs,
If you are referring to check-ins visibility, you can add different repos with different TFS URLs,

Hi Kit,
I dont think there is connectivity between both TFS servers. It wont be straight forward way to go with the approach to install and configure synchronizer on both TFS server.
Instead would you suggest to install the synchronizer on JIRA server itself which has connectivity to both the TFS servers? and then create profiles for both the TFS
By the way, the screenshots which you sent, are those of the synzhronizer application or it is of the JIRA config page?
Thanks

Hi Pratik,
Those screenshots I have sent are in the Synchronizer itself. Basically, if you would like to connect to multiple TFS Servers, you need to make sure where you installed the Synchronizer has to be able to communicate with these TFS Servers and Jira.
By the way, we recommend installing the Synchronizer on a separate machine in order to avoid networking and performance issue.
