Hi
I'm testing Jira 7.12.1 and Confluence 6.11.0. In Jira we do have a link to a Confluence page. When I'm on this page in Confluence I see an icon at the top with a link to this Jira issue
But when I click on it I'm getting this error message:
The provided url is not included in the whitelist!
If I have a look to the Security/Whitelist page in Jira, I can see the Confluence Application link as whitelisted, but I'm getting this error anyway. Even disabling the whitelist doesn't help. Is there anybody else with the same issue?
Thanks...
We had the same problem in Jira Server 8.3.4 and Confluence 7.1. The problem was in Confluence Application links - Primary Application (Jira) was configured with Http in Application URL and https in Display URL. After we matched the Application URL with Display URL (in our case https://jiraURL) problem was resolved.
Interesting. We face the same issue with Jira 8.8 and Confluence 7.3
We have setup unproxified Tomcat Connector for Application Links following KB https://confluence.atlassian.com/kb/how-to-create-an-unproxied-application-link-719095740.html so it is not possible to match Application and Display URLs.
I guess I have to open a support request.

I have requested support to update KB to document application link work-around in Confluence.

Hi Andrea,
Checking some similar cases, I saw that some were resolved by recreating the application link between Confluence and Jira.
You can also clear the plugin cache and restart confluence to check if this is caused by corrupted plugin cache.
Please, give a try and let us know how it goes.

Angélica

Hi Angélica
It didn't help. I have recreated the links again and deleted the Plugin cache with no success.
When I disable the Whitelist on Confluence it works.
As information, we do not have the same URL for Display URL and Application URL in the Application Link and we're using a proxy. Because of this I did also add the Application URLs to the Whitelists on both systems but it doesn't help.
When I have a look on the Proxy to the request that's beeing sent to receive the Jira site I see an empty referer (http_referrer) when the Whitelist is activated, and the http_redirect_url is missing completely.
When I disable the Whitelist, both headers are available and have a proper value. Could this might be part of the issue?
Thanks for your help
Andrea

Hi Andrea,
If both instances Jira and Confluence are linked via application links, it's not necessary to whitelist, that's why when you disable the whitelist, it works correctly.

Hi Angélica
I know that it should work like this, but at the moment it doesn't...

Hi Andrea,
Can you please create an unproxied application link?
This will help us to test if the proxy is preventing the application links to work correctly.

Angélica
