Hello Community,
We are planning on upgrading our Microsoft SQL 2008 R2 Server (in which Jira Software 7.1.7 runs) to a 2016 Server. I guess, we will have to upgrade Jira as well, correct?
Into which Version I have to upgrade, to support MS SQL 2016? Does it make sense to go to the highest available version? What is it?
I just want to know what to do, before I renew the Maintenance and go on.
Thanks!
Peter
Hello @PeterN ,
if you want to stay on Jira 7, you can upgrade to the latest Enterprise Release: it's 7.13.1.
Otherwise you can upgrade to Jira 8.0 but it's maybe a little early right now :)
But when you're upgrading, you should basically try to aim for the latest enterprise release.
Thanks for your fast reply Alexis! @Alexis Robert
Do I have to upgrade step by step (7.1.7 - 7.1.8 - 7.1.9...) or can I upgrade in one step all the way to 7.13.1?
Beginning from which Version is MS SQL 2016 supported?
Thanks
Peter

Hi @PeterN ,
you can upgrade directly to the latest version (whether you choose 7.13.1 or 8.0).
The first version that supports MS SQL 2016 is 7.9 I think, but you can go directly to 7.13
