Hi @Mandeep Singh,

Are you creating the ticket right in Jira?

You should check your workflow to see if there are any post-functions that are setting the assignee as you or 'currentuser'

There also might be an automation rule in project settings that is assigning the ticket to you after it's created.

The only other thing I can think of is the default assignee, but that shouldn't override you assigning the ticket to someone else.

Hope this helps!

Yes, I am creating a ticket in Jira. I will share the steps. This might help you to give me the solution.

  1. I create a ticket
  2. While creating a ticket I get an option to assign user to ticket
  3. That field says assignee and in selection box default option is automatic.
  4. When I select user from suggestion box and click submit, still ticket is created in my name as I am project lead. This was not happening earlier

did you check the things I mentioned above regarding workflow post-functions, automation rules, and default assignee?

Mandeep Singh December 19, 2018

I have checked the project settings, default assignee is un assigned. To cross check I checked the other project and there if I create a ticket and assign a user I don't face a problem. Settings are same...

 Please help....

I doubt all the settings are the same across the two projects, this wouldn't be happening if they were :).

Please check the workflow in depth and see if there are any post functions on the "create" transition that are assigning the issue to you.

Add screenshots if necessary.

Thankyou for the steps. I will define briefly what I did.

  1. I opened project settings.
  2. Clicked on workflow scheme assigned to task.
  3. You will see two options of workflow in the shape of diagram and text.
  4. I selected diagram and clicked on edit.
  5. Clicked on check box before show transition labels.
  6. Clicked on create transition and on the right hand side clicked on post functions.
  7. I got the list and deleted option of assign ticket to lead of the project or developer

It worked for me.
