Why is Priority Field taking value Medium ?

We are using Default Priority Scheme for our project and none of the screens i.e. Create & Edit Screen have Priority field on it. Not sure why i see it as Medium for every issue. Ideally it should not appear as it is not on any screen. Else option is to hide it from FC.

What do you all say?

You would need to hide the priority field from the field configuration as it's a system field and by default present on the issue view screen.

Thanks Tarun, I also felt that hiding is only the option.
