how can we migrate our users, issue, projects etc. from our one Jira server (on-premise) to another Jira software ( Hosted on AWS),
I think cause you mention AWS it is throwing people of and they are going straight to "aha Cloud".
So I guess you mean you have 2 systems (Jira on premise and Jira (DC or Server) hosted on a AWS server?
Is the AWS system a blank one or is it already being used with other projects?
Hi Dirk, thanks for response,
1- source Jira server is on-premise (hosted on VMWARE) and used for 500 active user
2- Target Jira server is hosted on AWS with Atlassian stander infrastructure(ASI) and blank,
now i need the right way to migrate all user and projects from Source(on-premise) to blank target server (AWS),
looking for right path

I would think the easiest would be to just take a backup (either XML or database) and restore that to the AWS server.
I guess the main things you'll have to change are your base url and your user directories to make sure they are linking to the correct ones.
Oh and also copy over your home directory, that would contain your attachments and plugin data.
official documentation on how to migrate a server to a new server can be found here
Since it's basically just a move to another machine there's not that much difference. just keep in mind to start with the same version(s) first so your data is consistent.

Hi Kristjan, thanks for response, but this will not help for my case, i am not asking for migrating Jira server to cloud, i am asking how can i migrate my user and project from one existing Jira server to to my another existing Jira server.
1- source Jira on-premise
2- Target Jira - on AWS
both are already hostage.

This should get you going.

I'm currently migrating a cloud space into our existing data center. If the users are in both servers, make sure the username and email match. If you do that, the import will sync all the imported user history to the existing user account.
I would suggest trying importing to a staging server first, if you have one.
