There are four ways to get this:

  1. A broken email was sent to Jira and mishandled by an email handler
  2. PS-1509 was deleted
  3. PS-1509 was moved
  4. PS-1509 is obscured

Reason 1 is unlikely.  We usually see it create many issue holes in one go, and if it is this, then it will be creating more holes on a regular basis.  You can rule this one out by looking for other holes in the numbers in the PS project - if it's only 1509 missing, it's not this problem.

The other three have a simple test - look at the issue.  Not via a search, but by directly using its plain issue view by its url.  Go to <your jira base url>/browse/PS-1509

  • If the issue appears here and is still called PS-1509, then your index is broken.  Perform a full locking re-index
  • If the issue redirects you to a different keyed issue, then it was moved.  Check the issue history for who did it
  • If you get a "not there" page, then check the projects "issue security scheme" - the issue may be obscured from you because it has a security level you do not have permission to see.

If it's none of those three, then yes, your issue has been deleted.

Hi @vashim shekh

If you can't find it, it has most likely been deleted. You could try reindexing, but I can't imagine that would make it turn up. As to the logs, I'm not sure how it works when the issue is deleted, but if someone had server access they could have edited the logs?
