Reporting story progress by subtask status

We have some teams who are working with a JIRA workflow that is heavily dependent on the use of sub-tasks; however, we are having trouble reporting on the status of a story based on the remaining Open subtasks when the story is "In Progress".

We are looking for a vendor recommendation on some possible solutions to our reporting needs and how we might be able to get to this information in JIRA.

Try using the Time tracking report. Besides reporting on the estimates vs Time Spent it also lists the sub-tasks under Stories. It could be the view that helps you determine the actual progress of the Story. It allows you to download it in Excel view.
