Search field in boards missing

hi, 

we just updated to Jira 8.2.2 and according to the release notes of version 8, we should have the search field within boards as it is available in the backlog. 

Anyone knows why not? We did not see any configuration setting that could be needed to make it visible.

this is the search field / search bar how it's shown in the release notes of Jira 8, but on our server installation with Jira 8.2.2 we do not get it

We have the same problem after our update to JIRA 8.2.
