Smart commits doe we need to enable DVCS

Hi version 2.1 of the Git Integration plugin for JIRA states support for smart commits now. Is this automatically enabled within the plugin? Or do we additionally have to enable DVCS link for smart commits to work?

Yes you would need to enable DVCS smart commits in order for it to work with Git Integeration plugin for JIRA. Further details please visit the following:

We currently use Gitlab but in the DVCS set-up I only see GitHub and Bitbuckit options in the drop down. Do you happen to know if we can use the GitHub option for our connection to our hosted version of GitLab?

Have you tried the https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.xiplink.jira.git.jira_git_plugin/cloud/overview add-on? It's available for Server and Cloud and has an integration for GitLab.
