Unable to Resolve or Close any issues after upgrade to 5.2.2 (from 4.1.2, via 4.4.5)

I am unable to resolve or close any issues on our test Jira upgraded to 5.2.2, attempting to do so just gives a loading spinner that seemingly never completes.

This occurs on different projects/workflows. Other issue actions such as editing or logging work seem to work fine.

Just adding this as a reference after finding the root cause of this in a support issue:

There was a javascript code block in a custom field causing the never-ending wait. Removing the javascript code from the field resolved this.

Hi Ethan,

The fact that this happens when trying to resolve or close issues possibly points to some kind of validator or post-function running on that transition. For example, a validator might be trying to call a class that is not there which would cause this.

On another note, can you please enable Plugin Safe Mode in Administration > Plugins and see if that resolves the issue? That would mean that a plugin is causing this.

Can you please check that in your workflow?
