What is the "Work Estimate" field supposed to represent??

We are using the work log in Jira. We have some filters and we've selected all fields related to the work log. One of these is "Work Estimate." This field keeps coming up blank so we don't know exactly what it shoud represent and I can't find it in the Jira docs.

If this field exists in the JIRA doc's somewhere, does anyone have a URL or could someone please explain what the field means?

Work Estimate? I haven't seen that in any default installations. Is that a custom field in your instance maybe?

The time tracking field names don't always correlate with what you see on the screen, but 'Work Estimate' doesn't ring a bell. You can peek at the docs on logging work in JIRA and see if you come across it, but my first guess is maybe it's a custom field you have.

Thanks for your reply. You're right, it may just be a custome field for another dept's project.
