Hi,
I am using JIRA v.5.1.8 and Confluence v.4.3.2. I added a gadget subscription for my instance of Confluence and after it does not show any Confluence gadgets in the Gadget selection directory. Am I missing anything?
Cheers,
Graham
Are the remote APIs on Confluence turned ON? Are you seeing any error in logs?
Check the JIRA_HOME/log/atlassian-jira.log when you add the subscription. And also when you try to add a gadget.

I have the following error in my log while trying to add the Confluence subscription:
Error occurred while retrieving gadget spec for https://mycompany.com:8444/confluence/rest/gadgets/1.0/g/com.atlassian.confluence.plugins.gadgets:gadget-search/gadgets/gadget-search.xml
What is especially odd is that the URL it is trying to use is wrong. I didn't type in our SSL address but instead our HTTP.
Currently, JIRA and Confluence have Application links and from all accounts that is working. However, for some reason when I enter the HTTP address into the Gadget Subscription field it changes itself to the HTTPS address.
Any thoughts on how to stop it from altering itself?

What happens when you type the http address on broswer?

So here is what is happening...I go to the Add Subscription option and enter our HTTP address for Confluence (mind you its running on both HTTP and HTTPS). After I enter the URL and hit finished, the Gadget Subcription Entry appears on the page but the HTTP URL has been changed to the HTTPS url which does not appear to be working for gadget subscriptions. Is there a way to fix this?

You haven't answered my question. What happens when you type the http url in broswer? Is there a redirection to https?

Well, that is hard to say. Our 8080 and 8090 ports are running behind our firewall so you can only access them on the server itself. Confluence and JIRA are on the same box so that is fine. Our application links are running via the HTTP ports so I'm not sure what the difference is with the gadget subscription.
