Why is there no support?

If it were up to me I'd use something else but I'm stuck trying to sort this out.  There is no support.  I have the option to create a ticket but it won't actually do anything.  The instructions for migration don't work, there seems to be no interest from Atlassian in actually helping the people who give them money.

I've tried to read https://www.atlassian.com/migration/plan/cloud-guide#setup-cloud but like most of their documentation it goes round in circles - the pages are full of links to other pages which often lead you back where you started without explaining anything.  It's slowly draining my will to live.

Are there any decent notes on how to do this?

Hi @System Administrator , are you listed as the technical contact for your installation? If so you should be able to open a support ticket. Though that ends on Feb 15 I think. You mentioned that you have an option to create a ticket but it doesn't do anything. Could you elaborate on this? Are you going to https://support.atlassian.com/ ?

Are you the technical contact? Are you paying for support?

The ability for the Community to support you is reliant on sufficient details. In the case of migration to cloud it can be difficult to assist even with those details still. There is also the option to reach out to Atlassian partners so that they can assist with the migration. Finally there is the Atlassian-Community-Migration-Group  where you might post your details.

I'm the only contact.  I'll try there, thanks.

Atlassian do not have support for free or starter licences (up to 10 people, paying $10 a year), they redirect you to this community.

We can try to help, but you'll need to explain what part of the migration documentation you are not understanding and maybe why you think you are "going in circles".

Thank you.

I'm trying to migrate an on-premise Starter to the cloud.  The instructions are full of long essays about irrelevancies and endless links to pages with links to pages...

In the end I found this which is considerably more useful than anything Atlassian have produced https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Atlassian-Access-articles/How-To-Atlassian-Access-Configure-SAML-SSO-Authentication/ba-p/1949816.  Some of the information seems a little out of date but there was enough for me to figure out the link between what Microsoft call things and what Atlassian call them.

Now I'm stuck again.

I'm on https://admin.atlassian.com and I've set up Azure AD as the identity provider.  I was asked to link a domain as part of the process but when I try to select one there's nothing in the list.  Is there something else I need to do?

I found the answer myself by accident.  I had to verify my domain.

I went to the support page, I can fill in the boxes but I get stuck.  It won't let me submit a ticket unless I choose a SEN but if I do it says my only option is here.
