Hi. No need to say that I am new to the administration part of JIRA.
I created a new workflow and new project. And associated it with my workflow.
Later on I was notified by users that the workflow changed for their projects. But it have not changed to my new workflow but to one that was modified 8 months ago by someone else. And now it became "default" for a lot of projects.
The question is how is that possible. I do not understand what could have gone wrong.
One of your admins changed their project's "workflow scheme". You might be able to find out who from Admin -> Audit
Thank you. I read the LOG. Still could not find where default changed, but the log is useful.

Hello, I would like to know how to revert back these changes, This issue occurs for me as well only with the first step(Status),
For Example,
I have defined a workflow for a Defect and I have defined a workflow for a Story with the first steps(Status) as Open and Requirement analysis respectively.
Suddenly the First step alone keeps changing for all the workflows that I have defined. It was Showing Requirement analysis for all the existing workflows.
If I try to change that first step(status) in other workflows, The recent changes in a workflow is getting reflected in all the other workflows.
Kindly let me know how to sort this issue, so that the First step is different for all the workflows.
Thank You

Workflows are not isolated entities. Each workflow is separate, but they draw on a common pool of status.
So if you edit a status that several workflows are using, it's going to change for all of them, because they're all looking at the same thing.
Similarly when you share workflows - if you edit it, you will affect all places the workflow is used, because there's only one workflow underlying it all.
To make the first step different, separate it into two workflows, and then change one of them to use a different status at the start

Thanks to you guys, I figured out this part now. But there is another question: I am trying to go back to the previously changed status name, and the system does not let me, it says that this status already exists. So it will let me to change it to a brand new name (similarly it allowed me to change this name to what I have right now). But I cannot go back. Ah? That is not very friendly.

Not quite, it's not saying you can't use it, it's saying you can't create another one with the same name. Try reusing the existing one with the right night.

Thank You so much, will work on this and check whether the same issue is not recurring.

Hi,
In case we make change in workflow though Scrum Board Settings that will it be impacting the exact workflow (means which has been added in multiple projects)? Please do suggest.
Regards
Nidhi
