Hi,

we are using a JIRA structure to track the progress of the UAT of a current project.

The Structure consists of "Test Plans" which include "Test Executions" which include "Test Cases". One "Test Case" can be part of multiple "Test Executions" and therefore "Test Plans" as well. This brings us to the point that within the structure some "Test Cases" can have 25 duplicates. Those "Test Cases" need to be run at different times respective for each "Test Execution". In order to schedule that, a "notes" column called "Planned Date" has been added to the structure (only visible in structure, not in issue). And here comes the problem:

If I add a "Planned Date" for "Test Case 1" within "Test Execution 1", the same changes are automatically applied to "Test Case 1" within "Test Execution 2".

Is it possible to have different inputs for the same "Test Case" respective to its linked "Test Execution"? The goal is to edit that independently.

I hope the description is sufficient enough and finds someone who can help!

Hello @Niklas Pribil

At this time, the Notes column's value is indeed duplicated for each instance of the same issue in a structure. Our backlog has a feature that should support values being unique for each row. We can update this post once there is any news about it.

If you need our assistance with anything else, please reach out to us directly at our support portal and we'll get back to you shortly.

Best regards,

I am unsure if this would meet your needs, but could you use "memos" for your Planned Date?  You can add a memo anywhere in your structure and you wouldn't have the duplication problem.
