Hi,
we have the situation that we have a crowd installation connected with a jira & confluence. Crowd used the LDAP Accounts.
Now we have the situation that some LDAP Accounts are changed/renamed and the user can not connect to Confluence & Jira because in crowd the old account is assigned to the groups which gave the access.
Is there any way to change the account in Crowd (Application or DB) so that the do not lose the information in Jira & Confluence (Assignee, Reporter)
Regards
Steffi
Hey Stephanie,
You can actually specify the user's alias for both Confluence and JIRA, such that even though the username is changed on LDAP side, Confluence and JIRA will authenticate the user based on his/her alias set in Crowd (the alias can be the user's old username).
Refer to this guide on how you can specify an alias, as well as the use cases: http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CROWD/Specifying+a+User's+Aliases
