got a question please - I am testing new workflows and when I am done I want to blow away the issues I created to test the workflow.
In the hosted on demand product- how do you get rid of issues in the system you no longer want = blow away completely?
Another question regarding workflow - what is better to use the id or the transition step name when a sub-task is transitioning a parent issue?
Also I am getting a result I was not expecting and following the two workflows story and task is non-predictive, hence do you have a debugging tool to step thorugh the workflow or maybe conditions I could apply to see the transition the system thinks it will do?
Hey Alan,
The issue here is usually that you're not allowing editing/deleting of closed issues - check out https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Allow+editing+of+Closed+Issues for more info on that.
Thanks,

thanks Dave - excellent now that we have permissions cleaned up.

Hey Alan,
I'll get this here as well in case someone else stumbles across this! In terms of removing, you can perform a bulk edit of issues (https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Modifying+Multiple+%28%27Bulk%27%29+Issues) using a search based on project information.
And for your workflow, you can use either the step name or number, though it's usually easier to edit/understand if you use the name.
Thanks,
-dave

one issue Dave when I try to bulk edit delete the test issues (I want deleted) is that when I go to the bulk edit function - the delete option is not available to me and I am set up as an administrator so this is very strange.
Any ideas on settings or permissions that would prevent me from deleting issues when I am in the group for sys admins??

System admin means system admin, not root or deity. You still need to grant yourself "delete" rights in a project before you can delete the issues in it (of course "system admin" is a valid identifier, so you can just say "allow delete if system admin")
For delete, you need to have delete on everything you're trying to delete, so you'll need to check every project your search is returning.
