Release page - Datepicker error

Davide May 17, 2019

Hi!

Today I found an error on the release page.

After clicking on the ACTIONS button and then on the RELEASE item, if I try to modify the release date the datepicker would appear as in image below.

Datepickers in the other sections appear to work correctly.

Best Regards.
Davide.

Hi Davide,

This error could be caused by a customization to one or more of the advanced settings found in the system administration panel:

  • jira.date.picker.java.format
  • jira.date.picker.javascript.format
  • jira.date.time.picker.java.format
  • jira.date.time.picker.javascript.format

If you could, please navigate to this Cog Icon -> System, then click on the Advanced settings button to find these.  You can also navigate to /secure/admin/AdvancedApplicationProperties.jspa to reach this page.   Please grab the values currently held by these four key names.

  1. Also what version of Jira is this?
  2. Am I correct in that Jira is using Italian for the system language?

Thanks

Andy

Hi Andrew!

The values set are the same as those you highlighted in the attached image.

Jira version is 8.1.0 (Server) and system language is Italian.

Davide.

Hi Davide,

Thanks for that information.

It certainly looks like you are seeing this bug JSWSERVER-14987.  It took me a few tries to be able to reproduce this problem.  I found it was only happening when clicking the release button on that specific page.  If I tried to edit the version to set the release date, use the build and release, or click the version name itself and use that release, or try to use the release button on a kanban board to edit the date, I wasn't able to reproduce this exact problem in these other windows.  I was only able to do it in this specific location when my system was set to a language other than English.

Right now the only work-around for this is to set the language Jira is using back to English.  I realize that is not ideal, but I would watch this bug ticket for an update.  Once this is fixed in a future version of Jira this will be updated to reflect this.

Hi Andrew.

Thanks for reply.

I performed further tests and the problem appears only and exclusively when I unrelease a version and I try to release it again.

This is for your information.

I'm waiting for a Jira update ;-)

Best Regards.
Davide.
