Report cross project

Hi,

I checked the available reporting template in Jira but I couldn't find a suitable report to report my requirement. Currently, we have created multiple service desk project with the same request types and component.

Currently, what's available is per project. You have to create the dashboard in each project. and able to do the filter either by request type or component. This is helpful only if the we have segregate division to handle different project.

I am looking for a report that able to show the percentage / total count of issues grouping by either request types / components in all service desk project in one single report/ dashboard. Can the expert please advise is this currently available in JIRA CLOUD?

We are currently license user of JIRA SOFTWARE CLOUD, JIRA CLOUD SERVICE DESK.

Thank you.

Hi Angeline!

Unfortunately, Service Desk won't let you do this out of the box. If you don't explicitly limit your JQL to the current project, Service Desk will add project = KEY to your JQL, which limits it to just the current project.

There is a feature request for this; but it hasn't been implemented at this time.

In the mean time, I recommend investigating a third party app - Charts and Reports for Jira Service Desk or eazyBI Reports and Charts would be good places to start. Both are available for Jira Cloud.

Let me know if this helps :)

Cheers,
Dave

Hi Dave,

Thanks for sharing. Does this mean,we will have to manually export all report out and do a manual combine in order to have a holistic report cross project ? We are not looking for additional budget to use third party app.

Thanks

Hi Angeline,

That's about the gist of it, yes.

If you've got an in-house developer (or someone who's handy with a bit of scripting knowledge) you might be able to leverage the Service Desk REST API in conjunction with the Jira Server REST API to pull the information you need from Jira.

The upside of this approach is that you have full control over what is displayed and how, and can customise it to suit your needs (because you're writing the reporting system).

That being said, it may not be possible to obtain the exact information you're looking to report on from the REST API; as some of the reports may use information that isn't available via those REST APIs.

I hope this helps - let me know if you have any other questions :)

Cheers,
Dave

Hi,

as Dave mentioned, in eazyBI Reports and Charts for Jira Cloud, you can do cross-project data analysis on Service Desk data with basic built-in metrics: met/breached cycles and issues over time, percentage calculation etc.

There are some examples in eayzBI demo account for Service desk projects: https://eazybi.com/accounts/1001/dashboards/8347-sla-dashboard-for-customers.

You may check them out and contact support@eazybi.com for more detailed assistance.
