I might be having a 'slow brain' day, but, I can't see how to solve this. As the jira admin i've been creating a default dashboard view for new projects as I set them up & then sharing them with the individual project teams, this has led to me having 25 (at the moment) favourite dashboard tabs down the left side of my screen. I'm only personally interested in a few of these projects, is there a way to stop a dashboard from appearing on the left, but, still be available on the manage dashboards screen?
The tabs you see are simple - if you have a dashboard as a "favourite", it's there. That flag is set on for any dashboard you create yourself, but you can still turn it off without losing the dashboard from the pool.
Go to Tools -> Find Dashboards and then the favourites tab. Hit the yellow star to un-favourite them. (That works in the big list too, it really is just a toggle)
Thanks Nic! see all it needed was somebody with a functioning brain :)

"functioning" is a little strong. Go with "coffee addled and was looking at it yesterday, so it's still near the surface"
