Set component automatically by issue type in workflow upon creation

I have a project with two components, each of which has seperate distinct issue types. I'm hoping to auto assign issues based on issue type to the appropriate component lead, but do not see a way to set component automatically when a issue is created.

Is there a way to set this up, so Issue type 1 is set as Component 1 and assigned to Component 1 lead upon creation, but Issue type 2 is set as Component 2 and assigned to Component 2 lead upon creation. I do not want my users to have to identify the component when they create an issue.

I believe you can do it with the script runner plugin.

Okay, I'm not familiar with how to use the script runner plug-in outside of the simple, preconfigured ones (which this doesnt seem to be), but thanks for the tip.
