Standard field not required on workflow transition screen

Does JIRA provide the ability to make a standard JIRA field required on a workflow transition screen?  I am trying to make 'Linked Issues' required however it's not listed in the Validator function either.

You can do this through your Field Configuration. On the field config for your project you can make the field required there. Keep in mind that the field will be required on any screen that it appears on which includes Edit screens. Just make sure you are not doing this to your Default Field Config unless you want all projects using the default to have the same requirement.

You can also use the plugin JIRA Suite Utilities (which is free) which provides a Required Fields module.
