Struggling to pre-populate linked issue when creating an issue using "direct HTML link"

Is there a way to quickly create a related issue for an existing issue, via a direct link?

I am following advice regarding How to create issues using direct HTML links in Jira Server. I want to pre-populate

  • project ID
  • issue type
  • a related issue

Using the following URL:

https://jira.myco.com/secure/CreateIssueDetails!init.jspa?pid=27020&issuetype=3&issuelinks-linktype=relates+to&issuelinks-issues=ALERT-5678

the project, issue type, and link-type pre-populate successfully, but the "issuelinks" fields remain unset, e.g.
