SynapseRT cloning

Hi.

We have had a problem for a while with cloning test cases in the JIRA plugin SynapseRT. I don't know if this is a JIRA issue or a SynapseRT issue, but I have so far had little response from them so I try here.

I have a test case TEST-1. This has 20 test steps.

This is cloned to TEST-2. Then TEST-2 was modified to have 18 steps.

So far so good.

Now I want a new clone of TEST-1.

So I give name TEST-3

No steps are cloned to TEST-3.

Instead TEST-1 suddenly has 38 steps!!! Guess where those extra steps came from? TEST-2!

Our JIRA setup is 7.13 with SynapseRT 9.3.2 and Service Desk 3.16.

We have not had this issue for the first 2-3 years of using Jira with Synapse, it started to happen roughly at the same time we installed Service Desk, but not sure this is related.

Anyone please?
