Tempo Log Time Search Engine

Hey Community,

we have a problem here with the search engine of tempo. Is it possible to display only relevant issues to a user?

Use case: USER1 is working in project A, B and C. He wants to log his time to an issue which contain the name "Bug Fixing" which is included in project A, B, C. He types in "Bug Fixing" into the field "search" issues. The search engine gives results from project A, B, C and also D which is not relevant for the user.

In a multi-project environment, as in our case, some search queries return too many issues. We want to enable our employees to log their times quickly and effectively.

Is there a way to setup this for the user?

Kind regards

Hi @Ye Fung Tchen

I have created a filter called "My tickets in the current sprint (dynamic)" with the following JQL:

assignee = currentUser() AND Sprint in openSprints()

Team members can see the results of this filter by clicking in the search issue field shown in your screenshot and using the down arrow because we have set this up as follows:

  1. Create the "My tickets in the current sprint (dynamic)" filter
  2. On the Tempo 'My Work' page, click on the << on the bottom right to expand the panel.
  3. Click on the cog icon on the right hand side of this panel next to the word 'Issues'
  4. Click into the "Add Jira filter" field and search for the filter you created in step 1
  5. By default the newly added Jira filter will be added as the first issue list

Hi @Kat Warner

Thank you very much for your help. I can't add the filter into "Configure issue picker" even tough I'm the creator of it. Are there any settings I still need to consider?

Also thank you very much for the link to the course. Will definitely take a look.

I think I found the problem. I'm getting 500 error if I open the settings. Need to fix this first I guess.

One last question: Is it possible to set one specific filter as default for ALL users?

Tempo comes with a set of inbuilt filters but the custom filter I had had to set manually under each person's login.
