Two boards for the same project: can I delete one?

When I created a Scrum project, a board was automatically created. I never used this board; instead, I created another board where I added a "Review" status and column, created and started a sprint, etc.

The default board is causing confusion for our users, so I want to delete it. But when I try to delete it, it warns me that "This board contains issues from <other board> and that sprint is currently active.".

Can I delete the default board, or will this cause problems?

I'm using Jira Cloud.

You should be able to delete the original board - just make a note of the filters and board config before you do so.  Probably best to wait until your sprint is complete.
