Unable to delete a resolution type

Adam Grace

Hi,

when trying to delete Fixed by assigning all current issues to an alternative resolution type (claimed fixed), JIRA throws up an error:

Cause:

com.atlassian.jira.exception.DataAccessException: Failed to remove resolution with id '1'

Any help is appreciated.

Well, I would imagine that, for reasons of database integrity, you should not be allowed to delete a resolution. Otherwise, all change history would fail to properly display an issue's history.

However, if a resolution is not present in any workflows (anymore), it should no longer appear in the filter section for resolutions because JIRA should calculate possible resolutions on the fly based on the workflows of the selected project(s). That's something to look at. As for the resolution remaining in the help file, you might have to live with that. But who looks at help files anyway :)

Or are you saying you get an error on migrating issues. It wasn't clear to me.
