Unable to upload attachments after Edit button is disabled.

ADITHYA_GUTTIKONDA September 18, 2018

Hello,

I disabled 'Edit' button in couple of statuses in a project and added edit transition to restrict edit permissions to few users. Since then, we are not able to upload attachments to the issues when the issues are in those statuses. JIRA is neither showing the attachments nor throwing any error. Attachments uploaded in earlier statuses are visible and we are also able to upload the attachments in later statuses. I made sure the attachments field is added to view screen. This is a blockage for one project to be used.

I found below in logs:

2018-09-18 16:29:54,610 http-nio-8080-exec-20 WARN aguttikonda 989x536740x2 1bh373n 170.94.57.122,127.0.0.1 /secure/CommentAssignIssue.jspa [c.a.j.issue.fields.AttachmentSystemField] There were errors while converting temporary attachments: AttachmentError{logMessage='An error occurred: You can not create attachments as the issue is in a non-editable workflow state.', localizedMessage='You can not create attachments as the issue is in a non-editable workflow state.', filename='', reason=VALIDATION_FAILED, exception=none()}

It says attachments can't be created as the issue is in non-editable status. But, I am trying to upload the attachment in the 'edit' transition which I created and have permission to edit fields. Please suggest how to fix it or if there is any work around.

Thanks,

Adithya.

Hi there, Adithya.

I would be interested to know first how you configured your workflow to have the non-editable status. Can you share more insights on that?

Additionally, have you considered using the jira.permission.edit workflow property to achieve this as mentioned in the jira.permission.edit vs jira.issue.editable properties question?

Keep me posted. Thanks.
