I am currently running JIRA v6.2.7 with MySQL 5.5.35.

Are there any gotchas with upgrading MySQL from 5.5.x to 5.6.x when JIRA is involved? Any tables that will need to be repaired/re-indexed, etc? Or is the upgrade fairly straightforward?

Hi Mark,

MySQL 5.6 is a JIRA supported platform. You shouldn't have any issues upgrading your MySQL version.

Just make sure that your JIRA instance is down while upgrading the database version, and that you have created a database dump before upgrading, for safety.

Kind regards,
