Using Jira CLI for custom subscription emails

Hi,

Has anyone tried using Jira CLI for custom subscription emails?

I was thinking about emulating a subscription email by running a query via Jira CLI, and running a mail script of some sort around it.

We have a large jira instance with several external customers, and they have unique notification demands. The stock velocity templates don't do the trick.. and I don't particularly want to take down time whenever an if clause is added to velocity for customer x.

Any tips appreciated.
