Hello all !
We are actually looking to use a JIRA plugin for managing our tests, and have identified some that seem interesting to us :
Performance is an important matter to us, as the instance used today is at the max of its capabilities and no investment will be made to upgrade it. Its a 5000 users instance and 50 to 100 users will use the plugin.
Do you have any insights regarding this topic ?
Many thanks for your help !
Hey @Guillaume ROBERT ,
Welcome to Atlassian Community!
I understand that performance is a key concern, especially given your instance size (5,000 users) and the current resource constraints. Test management apps often create many custom issues, attachments, and links. Over time, this can increase the load on your Jira instance.
Below are some insights on the plugins you mentioned specifically from a performance and scalability perspective:
AIO Tests:
Known for a lightweight footprint and native Jira issue usage. Generally performs well, but large test repositories can impact Jira indexing and search performance.
Agile Test:
Less widely adopted, so performance data is limited. Recommend piloting in a staging environment to assess impact.
QMetry:
Feature-rich and widely used in large enterprises. However, it can be resource-intensive, especially with large test repositories and attachments. QMetry provides its own database for some data, which can help, but integration points with Jira (issue links, gadgets) may still affect performance.
TestFLO:
Integrates deeply with Jira issues and workflows. Performance is generally good, but as with AIO, large numbers of custom issues can affect indexing and reporting.
I would recommend you to reach plugins Vendor Consultation for performance benchmarks and best practices for large instances.

Chitra Nagdeo
AIO Tests doesn't create any of its entities as Jira issues and thus there will be no impact on Jira performance.
Please reach out to us for any other performance related query you have about AIO Tests (help@aiotests.com).
