In the story workflow I have the states "Waiting to deploy", "Complete" and "Cancelled", in addition to the proposed and intermediary states.
However, when accessing the state drop-down, I can't see the three states mentioned, only the others.
In the permissions, "Any logged in user" has the permission to transition, close and resolve issues. I am logged in. Why then don't I have this possibility, and how can I enable it?
hello @Alex Mardare and welcome to the Community! It's possible there are workflow conditions prohibiting issue closure (perhaps all sub-tasks must be closed before allowing issue closure). Have a look at the transitions to the closure states and check the Conditions.
Thank you Laurie! That was the issue. The story had a sub-task. I wasn't aware that it needed to be completed first. Sorry if this was a basic question, I am new to Jira. I searched the knowledge base first but didn't hit on any similar situations.

Hi Alex,
welcome to the community!
Regarding your question: there are conditions and validators that influence how an issue can be pushed through the workflow. A condition can be that the issue was previously in a certain other status. Can you see that?
Regards
Marcus
