Why is WIP limit not working on Kanban board?

I have set constraints on Issue count and put limits of 10-15 on TODO swim lane. But still it is showing all the backlog items. Would appreciate if anyone could help understand if am doing something wrong.

Hi @milind.khanzode and welcome to the community,

The WIP limits on a kanban board are not restrictive, so they won't block you from adding items to a column. They will display the background colour of the column in red, so you have a clear visual indication that you have too many items in a column.

Suppose that you have a real emergency one day where you have to break the rules to get things fixed, you wouldn't want your kanban board to block you at that time.
